ATEX stands for ATmospheres EXplosibles and are two key directives, established by the European Union and still adhered to in the UK, to ensure the safe use of equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres.

ATEX 114 “Equipment” Directive (2014/34/EU) covers equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. It is imperative that manufacturers comply with the directive ensuring that their products meet safety standards.
